CHAPTER 46-JENNY SUPPORTS HARRY

COPYRIGHT@GERRYROSE

Jenny realised that the tables had turned today. Whilst what had happened to Jim was literally shocking, what occurred today was on another level. Yet again Jenny was with Harry in his flat and they were having Brandy. Jenny was surprised by how calm she actually felt, considering what had happened. Saul’s contract was with her, but little did she think that what he really wanted was some action with Harry. Yet again they had called the Police and yet again they had made statements. Things could have been a lot worse. Jenny realised that there were some safeguards for her work that were not in place. She had been a bit naïve, but that would all have to change now.
‘How are you feeling Harry?’
‘Somewhat stupid actually.’
‘Well we acted in good faith. We are probably a bit behind the times where social media is concerned.’
‘Someone must have taken photos of us arriving at some of our cleaning jobs. How was I to realise that I was gaining such a following on Twitgram.’
‘Whilst we were focussing on the kinky cleaning with me being the main operative, how were we to know there were people who literally wanted to see more of you? #Sexysilverchauffeur, has quite some following.’
‘Well we know about it now.’
‘You were hired to be my minder Harry. How keen are you to get money for your new bathroom and kitchen?’
‘I am keen, but what are you suggesting.’
‘Ok when we got to Saul’s we didn’t expect him to ask you to strip. We didn’t expect that he had a big burly bear of a man who was going to persuade you.’
‘Look I am able to take care of myself but what happened today was very unreasonable.’
‘It was more than unreasonable! It was wrong on many levels. That man threatened that if you didn’t strip he was going to beat the shit out of you with that iron bar. He had you handcuffed to the bed and you were defenceless. I felt threatened too, but they weren’t interested in me and they didn’t make any threats to me. They were so disinterested in me, that they failed to notice that I was making an audio recording of the threats.’
‘Yes the Police were pretty impressed. What choice did I have? It all happened so quickly’
‘Yes it did, you picked up the parking permit and you put it in your car. I entered the flat and waited in the hallway. The moment you entered the flat, that big bear came from nowhere and had you in a head lock. He moved you to the bedroom and handcuffed you to the bed as quick as lightening. He demanded that you stripped and you had no choice Harry. You managed to take your clothes off whilst one hand was tied to the bed. That was impressive.’
‘They took photographs of me Jenny.’
‘Well you have nothing to be ashamed of Harry. You look pretty good for your age.’
Jenny was quite surprised by how turned on she got by seeing Harry naked. She was not going to tell him that though.
‘What’s going to happen to those photos?’
‘Leave that to the Police.’
‘Yes but once they had taken the photos, they uploaded them to some site and do you remember them asking us for money?’
‘Yes, but by that time I had called the Police and they got there pretty quickly.’
‘They broke the door down!’
‘I reckon they had previous Harry. They were people of interest. I think the Police were grateful to us for giving them an excuse to take them in.’
‘I noticed some of the police were stifling some giggles at the station.’
‘Yes the comments about us being responsible for a mini crimewave was a bit unnecessary. I think mentioning the death of Bob was also a bit much.’
‘Well two visits to the Police station on consecutive days is unusual.’
‘I reckon that lot have seen it all.’
‘So why did you ask me about my kitchen and bathroom?’
‘I think our days as Jenny Likes Dirt are numbered. We need to up our game.’
‘What do you think of ‘Jenny Likes Dirt and Harry is Filthy’. I think Dirty Harry would have been better, but I think that would be too confusing and Clint Eastwood’s agent would probably object.’
‘What would I be expected to do?’
‘I think just like me, some naked cleaning, with very clear rules. I do think we would need to employ our own bear of a man.’
‘I’m not sure. I am a lousy cleaner as you know. How much could we charge for all of this?’
‘I think they would hire us just to see you naked, Parker! I could handle the cleaning. Harry I have been able to charge ridiculous amounts per hour, plus expenses. I have learned that people’s kinky desires are worth an awful lot of money. I have my boundaries as you know. Those boundaries have worked, until yesterday and today, we now need to get more savvy.’
Jenny didn’t want to reveal all of her secrets to Harry. She had never imagined what some people were willing to pay to get their kicks.
‘How do you cope with being the object of someone’s desires? Aren’t you embarrassed by being in the nude in front of people?’
‘I got over it Harry, because I had a goal. It is amazing what you can do if the reward for doing it suits you. Also women are probably more used to this sort of stuff. Remember the days when women were on page 3 of a certain Newspaper?’
‘How would be publicise this new company?’
‘Jenny Likes Dirt got publicity from Bob’s posting on Neighbour Nextdoor. We need to get someone who is willing to mention that Jenny Likes Dirt has a new co-worker Harry. The company has changed its name to Jenny Likes Dirt and Harry is filthy.’
‘Sounds a bit crazy Jenny!’
‘Yes but crazy does so well in this city.’
‘Where do we find our own ‘bear’?’
‘Not sure. I daresay there are security guards and bouncers who would fit the role. You were my minder but you didn’t expect to be paid loads.’
‘No because I am retired and have a pension. It was just a bit of a laugh for me until today.’
Jenny felt sorry for Harry who was obviously still feeling quite traumatised
‘Where would we find fit older men, who could be willing to work as our bear or bears, we might need a few of them?’
‘Well I know that a lot of older men hang around Hove Library, but to be honest they don’t look too fit.’
‘Oh I have seen that lot and all they seem to do is sit and read the free newspapers and I would hardly describe any of them as fit, or bears. What about gyms?’
‘I suppose we could hang around outside some gyms and see what emerges.’
‘Ok that might work.’
‘Let’s just check what jobs we have got over the next few days.’
Jenny checked her diary.
‘Tomorrow we have a man in Hangleton who wants me to dress up as a school girl and clean his bedroom. Then the day after, we have a man in Portslade who wants me to clean his car, which thankfully is in his garage, in the nude. After that we have a free day. So can you draw up a list of Gyms in Hove and we can go on a bear hunt.’
‘I can remember reading that book to my sons!’
‘Yes Harry but this is a rather different bear hunt!’
Jenny did think that her life had certainly become more bizarre. She wondered how long she would be able to keep Tim in the dark. It struck her that Tim and her were becoming more and more like ships passing in the night. She had begun manifesting what sort of life she wanted for herself once she was no longer with Tim. Ideally she saw herself in a small flat somewhere on the seafront in Hove. She wanted a sea view. It would have two bedrooms and she didn’t want to have to pay huge service charges. Her target for her running away fund had been based on her modest cleaning company rates plus 50% of the sale of the marital home. She had been keeping a diary and wondered if she might make a lot of money by writing about her experiences. She didn’t think she was much of a writer and hadn’t done well at school in her English O’level. However, last time she was in Hove Library she saw that there was a group for aspiring writers. She wondered if she should go along and see what support and encouragement she might find for a sort of kinky memoir. They met the first Saturday of the month at 2pm until 3.30pm. She would wait until the New Year before attending. She would keep a low profile at first in order to find out how ‘Hove Scribblers’ operated. She had heard the phrase attributed to Mae West, ‘Keep a diary and one day it will keep you.’ However, she wasn’t Virginia Woolf or Alan Clark.
