Life begins at sixty

I am retiring from my current role at the end of April. This fills me with simultaneous excitement and fear. I think back to the time when my parents retired aged 65 and 60 and know that they had at least 23 years of good quality years. I remember photos of them looking brown and relaxed enjoying holidays in Devon and Cornwall. I would like to think that I could have the same, and a few more good years than they had. What frightens me?  Not having enough money to enjoy myself. What excites me? Thinking about what new and exciting opportunities may come my way. I have a bit of a plan and think starting a blog would be a good way of ensuring that I follow it. I would also welcome feedback and ideas from others who are at the same life stage as me. My appetite for travel is more exotic than my parents. Oh and one important detail I am single, so I am starting this new phase of my life alone and free to do exactly what I want to do. Freedom here I come!
